Tax Manager

A highly skilled and Bilingual (Japanese/English) Tax Manager is needed to lead corporate tax engagements. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing corporate tax returns, managing tax accounting matters, and mentoring a team of tax professionals. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, particularly with ASC 740, and a passion for developing staff while delivering high-quality tax services.

Essential Duties

• Review corporate income tax returns and ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations.
• Manage tax accounting processes, demonstrating a strong understanding and practical application of ASC 740.
• Manage, develop, and mentor staff, assisting with their professional growth and development through guidance and supervision.
• Conduct complex tax research and provide strategic tax consulting services.
• Handle client communications effectively.

Working Hours / Working Style

09:00 - 18:00 (Exempt) Remote-based / Hybrid preferred (Working remotely is the base, but candidates who can commute to the office for a hybrid schedule are highly welcomed). Occasional business trips are required a few times a year as needed.

$110K - $150K

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Japanese and English (Professional proficiency in both verbal and written communication).
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in corporate income tax compliance, tax accounting, and tax consulting.
• BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university.
• Active Licensed CPA or EA.
• Solid practical experience and technical understanding of ASC 740.
• Strong technical skills in tax compliance and tax research.
• Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving abilities, solid oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
