The Relocation Consultant is responsible for developing new business opportunities and building customer relationships for MAC Relocations. This position focuses on identifying prospective customers, understanding their relocation and service needs, developing project opportunities, and working with the General Manager and Operations team to prepare scopes and proposals.

The role requires someone with a strong sales background who is comfortable prospecting, developing relationships, meeting with customers, and learning the operational aspects of MAC’s services. Experience within commercial moving, logistics, installation, construction services, facilities services, or another labor-based service industry is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development

• Develop new business opportunities throughout the Chicagoland market.
• Prospect and build relationships with potential customers and referral partners.
• Maintain an active pipeline of prospective opportunities and consistently follow up on leads.
• Participate in networking, customer meetings, industry events, and other business development activities.

Customer & Project Development

• Conduct site walkthroughs and gather information necessary to develop accurate project scopes.
• Work with the General Manager and Operations team to determine appropriate labor, trucking, equipment, and other project requirements.
• Identify additional service opportunities based on customer and project needs.
• Maintain regular communication with customers throughout the sales and pre-project process.

Estimating & Proposal Development

• Prepare and present clear and competitive project proposals.
• Assist with developing labor, trucking, equipment, and other project costs.
• Maintain accurate information regarding project scope, pricing, and customer requirements.

 

Desired Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in commercial relocation, project management, or a related field within facility, labor, and/or building services.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously within a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
• Must be entrepreneurial minded with excellent follow up and strong closing skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite, NetSuite or previous experience utilizing a CRM system is a plus.
