Housekeeping Assistant Sumter Health & Rehabilitation | York, AL Help Create a Clean, Comfortable Home for Our Residents Sumter Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a dependable and hardworking Housekeeping Assistant to join our team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and perform routine housekeeping duties. Empty trash and properly dispose of waste. Replenish housekeeping and resident-room supplies as needed. Follow infection prevention, sanitation, and safety procedures. Report maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Work cooperatively with other departments to maintain a comfortable environment for residents. Qualifications Previous housekeeping, environmental services, or cleaning experience preferred but not required. Healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care experience is a plus. Ability to follow cleaning, sanitation, and infection prevention procedures. Dependable, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position.
