Optomi, in partnership with a leading consulting firm, is seeking two Data Scientists, one for their New York City, NY location and one for their Cupertino, CA location. The Data Scientists will support business-facing product analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will leverage statistical analysis, machine learning techniques, and experimentation frameworks to solve business problems, deliver actionable insights, and provide recommendations around AI/LLM opportunities. This is not a deep AI engineering role, but rather a data science position focused on analytics, experimentation, and business impact. This is a hybrid, 12-month contract role.

Experience of the right candidate:

• 5-7 years of Data Science experience with a strong focus on business-facing product analytics.
\n
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
\n
• Experience working with large datasets; Spark experience highly desired.
\n
• Hands-on experience designing, executing, and analyzing A/B tests.
\n
• Understanding of AI/LLM capabilities and the ability to recommend business use cases.
\n
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Experience applying statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to large, complex datasets.
\n
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
\n
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
\n
• Financial products experience.
\n
• Tableau or similar BI/data visualization tools.
\n
• Strong mix of business and technical expertise.
\n
• Experience in big data environments.
\n

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, insights, and business opportunities.

• Design and evaluate A/B tests to measure product and business impact.
\n
• Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to solve business problems.

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives and provide data-driven recommendations.

• Use SQL and Python to extract, analyze, and interpret data.

• Build dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings.

• Identify AI/LLM opportunities and recommend practical business use cases.

• Present insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
